The 33-year-old number eight, who played in England's victory over Australia in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final, believes he is good enough for a place after recovering from breaking his ankle on the 2005 Lions tour of New Zealand.
"I want to prove to the players already there (in the England team) that I deserve to be selected on merit," former captain Dallaglio said in an interview published on Tuesday.
"There's a window for me because Lewis Moody is suspended and Pat Sanderson is struggling with injury."
Dallaglio was England captain and had led Wasps to victory in the Heineken Cup in the 2003-04 season when he decided to retire from international rugby.
"My retirement (in 2004) was premature in terms of form and fitness because I was not being deselected. I was England captain and I'd finished the domestic season leading both the Premiership and European champions," he told The Guardian.
Dallaglio suggested he would not react badly if he was not selected on Wednesday.
"It certainly won't lessen my desire to be picked for England again...I've just signed to play two more years for Wasps and that means I'm available for England the same length of time."
England open their Six Nations campaign against Wales on February 4 at Twickenham.
