ENGLAND fans will get a final chance to grab a World Cup ticket - in an online swap shop.
Football bosses FIFA will open the option on their www.fifaworldcup. com site on February 1.
The deal will appeal to fans who applied blindly for tickets to venues before the draw was made - and now find they don’t want to watch the teams drawn there.
The tickets can only be swapped at face value, to avoid profiteering. It will be the only legal way to swap tickets as sales on sites such as eBay will be outlawed.
"This benefits honest and genuine fans by eliminating inflated prices," said World Cup chief Horst Schmidt.
"The aim is to restrict the black market to the absolute minimum." The latest phase of ticket sales opened last week after the draw, so people can now buy tickets for specific matches knowing who will play.
But the official England Supporters’ Club has already snapped up 12,000 tickets, meaning there’s only a remote chance of a ticket for other fans who want to see David Beckham,
Rio Ferdinand and the rest of the stars. If the games are over-subscribed - as most will be - those applying will go into a ballot on January 31 to see who gets to buy the tickets.
The face value of tickets for opening round games range from £27 to £67, while a premium quality seat for the final will set you back more than £400.
