HOPES of a Led Zeppelin tour appear to be dashed today as tickets for solo gigs by singer Robert Plant go on sale.
After the band’s triumphant one-off concert in London on Monday, fans had hoped a tour would be announced.
Instead Plant is to play 11 dates across Europe with singer Alison Krauss. Fans on the band’s official website expressed disappointment.
"Oh dear – no Led Zep tour in 2008," wrote one. "I really am sick to my stomach," said another. Some even labelled Krauss a ‘Yoko Ono’ figure for keeping the band apart – just as Beatles fans accused John Lennon’s then girlfriend when the band split up.
