Bez takes a pop at Amy and Doherty

HAPPY Mondays gurner Bez has foolishly attempted to communicate with his tongue instead of his maracas.

The drug-addled goon has branded Amy Winehouse, 23, and Pete Doherty, 28, "lightweights" for going to rehab.

And the Madchester reject – who combined his cold turkey with suckling at publicity’s teat on Celebrity BB – has earned several cans of whoopass from the jazz pixie’s fans for his insensitivity.

He slurred: "Pete Doherty is talked about all the time but he’s a f***ing lightweight. He spends more time in rehab than he does taking drugs for f***’s sake.

"Winehouse is the same, she’s got a lot to prove. There are too many part-time rock ’n rollers these days. They should get out and have a good time. I’ve not spent a minute in rehab in 25 years and I’m all right."

Hmm, the jury has never been more out than on that one. Meanwhile, at the more sympathetic – and more successful – end of the musical spectrum, Snoop Dogg, 35, has offered to look after beehived cutie Amy.

He might be the most unlikely doctor since Hannibal Lecter, but big-hearted Snoop, 35, has invited the Camden Queen and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, to stay at his Tinseltown home. The rapper’s primary LA residence is more private than the Pope’s pants, so would be an ideal place for Amy to escape the media glare.

Snoop – who will host November’s MTV Europe Music Awards – said: "I want her to know that if she needs a place to chill for a bit, my hood is her hood."

The Dogg-meister even credits the Brit-winner’s record Back To Black with inspiring him to make a solo album.

He explained: "When I’m listening to it, I’m learning who she is. It’s like when you listen to James Brown, he did it by himself, and Curtis Mayfield, all by himself. So I’m going to do the whole record by myself."
