IS there trouble in paradise for English rose Keira Knightley and her dashing actor boyfriend Rupert Friend?
Pals claim Rupert�s nose has been put out of joint following Keira�s failure to wear an antique white gold ring, recently bought for her by her beau.
Rupert, 26, who met Keira while playing Mr Wickham in the 2005 film version of Pride And Prejudice, is said to be annoyed that she instead prefers to wear a ring given to her by Chanel, the brand she advertises.
"Rupert bought Keira this antique ring at considerable expense and while not an engagement ring, it was supposed to symbolise their love for one another," we�re told. "But as the face of Chanel, she�s obviously been inundated with items from its fine jewellery collection and has chosen to regularly wear one of its rings instead of the one bought for her by Rupert.
"As a result, the word is he�s made his feelings known to Keira."
Keira, 22, whose contract with Chanel is reportedly worth around £500,000 a year, recently talked of her horror when one of the designer�s £20,000 necklaces jammed while she was filming Atonement. Keira�s assistants had to call the designer�s headquarters in Paris to get permission to snap it off.
Friends, meanwhile, are concerned that she and Rupert could face a tough few months as he is going to be based in Germany working on a film project, which also includes David Tennant�s ex-girlfriend Sophia Myles.
"It seems these could be testing times for Keira and Rupert," adds our source. "They�re both young actors with their careers still very much ahead of them, so relationships are never going to be straightforward. Hopefully they�ll work things out."
